cleaning hemp necklace

trichome1698 Registered on Aug-04-2005 More User Info Message #1028 posted by trichome1698 (Info) August 04, 2005 15:38:41 ET I got a hemp necklace from a local headshop and at first it smelled strongly of incense. after breaking a sweat or two in it, it now reeks like... well... i dunno, it just reeks. Anyone know of a way to clean/deodorize it? any help is appreciated.

With safety pins , pin the necklace out straight right down the middle of the cloth, making sure that it is well secured. Fold the cloth over the necklace. Roll the cloth up into a tube that will protect the necklace. Add more safety pins to secure the tube. Toss it into the gently cycle of your washer with your other laundry. Wash. Or you could carefully hand wash it with shampoo or good dish detergent. Just be sure to rinse it well, some folks can get contact dermatitus ( a rash) from detergents. A drop or so of a natural essential oil will restore the incense smell.
