sorry for the long delay in replying/hope ya get this messagere:acetaldahyde
if this is the addictive agent in cigs then i should want to be smoking 20 - 40 joints a day...i used to smoke tobacco and i had cravings within minutes of putting out a butt...but with marijuana i can smoke it once daily when its convenient for me instead of desperately chain smoking every chance i get
perhaps the level of acetaldahyde is not high enough to overpower nicotine addictive properties...anyway, the tobacco corps spiked their product with nicotine to make them sell better just like jolt cola and barq's increased the level of caffeine to make their products more attractive and WHY NOT as long as the customer is informed via advertising or ingredient labels?
re: organic farming
YES organic tobacco and organic marijuana should be MUCH less risky than commercial tobacco on the basis of radiation alone...but customers don't get a chance to make informed choices because cigarette and chemical corps are powerful entities and big advertisers so newspapers don't cover the facts
re: antioxidants
i don't know what to think about this...while antioxidants are system cleansers i seriously doubt they can scrub away the tar/smoke byproducts of daily joint smoking (my bong water is filled with crap after a single bowl!)
tobacco smoke constricts the small airways of the lungs (thus trapping the crap) but marijuana smoke actually expands them...this helps to move out smoke particles and tar...PLUS: a casual daily pot smoker might consume as little as a 1/4 gram a day of potent pot while a casual daily cigarette smoker could easily consume a 1/4 ounce of tobacco...so: pot is safer by nature and consumption pattern
i think that taking antioxidants is a good idea for smokers but it would be more beneficial to take a walk and clear out those lungs and get the blood pumping
